The chemical industry is a vital of the global economy, and is distinguished for its complex nature. As a part of capstone project, the primary objective was to create an optimization algorithm using meta-heuristic approach for supply chain of the chemical industry. In this competitive environment, organizations want to have a competitive edge by reducing costs & enhancing the efficiency within a complex supply chain process.

Using Genetic Algorithm & Greedy Search, Ottimizare revolutionizes supply chain of the chemical industry.

Ottimizare offers an innovative solution which targets two complex issues: a) resource allocation b) vehicle routing problem. The resource allocation problems involve identifying set of orders that yield the highest value within defined constrained. Managing resources in the chemical industry is intricate because you have to segregate incompatible or hazardous good. Similarly, the VRP's objective is to determine the most efficient route for servicing a set of customers.

Two Phased Approach

  • First phase: The algorithm identifies an optimal subset of orders.
  • Second phase: It determines the best route, minimizing the overall distance travelled and costs incurred.
